A Message from our Founder:

 

Hello, I’m DJ.

In 2016, I woke up one day and realized that I was not where I dreamed I would be when I was a little girl. Like so many people, I experienced life’s ups and downs, but what brought me up were the thoughts that brought me peace and love. And, once I understood myself (knowledge), I was able to continue on the next step of my journey.

 

My mission was always to bring communities together - even very different ones. I have always asked myself why my summer visits to my family in Mexico were so different from my life in the Los Angeles Valley. And I realized that there was so much I could do to make a difference. I wanted to empower people to become stronger individuals and to help me build stronger, more connected communities.

My dream is that one day PLK will go nationwide (and even international)! But we can’t do it alone. We’re looking for kindred spirits - artists and radicals, lovers and dreamers - to help us on our mission. If that sounds like you, please reach out and join our cause.
