HELP 10 FAMILIES
Dec 2017, PLK went to Puerto Rico with the help of Puerto Ricans in Action LA, to help and understand more about Hurricane Maria. We were able to help PRIA create hygiene kits and distribute them to a local school that was in a community which flooded due to Maria. Then we met Paola with Comadres Sociales, and her team is taking abandon buildings to feed the community and provide health resources. Their main mission is to make a proactive resident. It was devastating to see people are not being helped like it is being advertised on social media and television. There are people still with no electricity! Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with amazing and caring people, there was so much hospitality given to me during my visit. I promised the residents I will be back with better resources, because the government is no help! I met Daisey while distributing the hygiene kits from PRIA, and she was so loving and grateful to be alive, but she wants to give back to her community and help those still affected. She has kept me up to date since my trip, and has chosen 10 families (as a goal we hope to pass!), that are badly affected, and this donation is to provide them better resources to get as close to the normal they were used to. These are supplies the community asked for. Since PLK is about the people, we want to provide what the people want! Let's keep spreading PLK to communities. Join us and feel free to contact for more info.
